While we've discussed the different phases of our NLI interior design process from our initial consultation to the design phase and the final (and funnest) part... delivery and installation, today we'd love to tell you our essential steps to wrap up interior design projects successfully and how we handle closing out full service projects with our clients.

Should you ever become a full service design client of Nancy Lane Interiors, once we complete the design for your project and move through the procurement process, after the big reveal of your beautiful new spaces, you will receive a Project Wrap Up Guide. We send our guide digitally upon project completion as a part of our close-out process. This guide will serve as a useful reference in the future for tasks such as updating paint colors in the powder bath, replacing lightbulbs in chandeliers and pendants, or removing stains from specific fabrics.

Paper files for every project can take up a lot of storage space, so giving you a digital copy saves space in my office and your own home, and allows you to search for any word and find the exact page you want immediately. This is a sneak peek of the cover page...

Here are a few examples of what you would find inside your guide, depending on the scope of your project:

  • Spec sheets for appliances, as well as warranty information

  • Contact information for the contractor and various vendors that worked on your home

  • Lightbulb key for the installed lighting in your home

  • Cleaning instructions for specific fabrics, rugs, or stone surfaces used

  • Suggested cleaning solvents

  • Paint colors, plus finishes and vendors for each room and surface

Once we reach the end of our time working together, we have you sign off on the project to ensure your satisfaction, ask for feedback to fine-tune our own process, and send over this Wrap Up Guide. It is critical to our business that you are taken care of before, during, and after the completion of your project, and we like to think of this guide as the cherry on top!

If you've worked on projects before, is there any information you've searched for yourself that you might suggest we add to the guide? Please share in the comments below.
